Founder and Brand Director: Emma Thomson
Emma began her career in the fitness industry over a decade ago as a Personal Trainer & Pilates Instructor. Her further studies of Psychology & Applied Nutrition paved the way to a much more holistic approach to her career in health and well-being.
After suffering with severe depression and anxiety during her adolescence and early adulthood, regular exercise played a major role in Emma’s recovery. As a busy mother of three, Emma has combined her passions, education and experience to create Mums Empowered (M.E.)
Emma and her team are huge advocates for the benefits that physical activity provides for the mind. So often, mothers feel immense pressure to “get their body back” after having a baby. From this stems feelings of inadequacy, low self esteem and guilt. Our brand is sustained on the firm belief that: Success, physically speaking, is obtained through the means of supporting women's mental well-being first.
By combining quality physical exercise with a healthy mindset, we launched our studio classes back in 2010. The Merewether location now operated by accredited trainer Melissa Lancaster enables mothers in the local area to take some much needed “me time”, free from pressure, judgement or guilt. The classes focus on quality exercise for improved pelvic floor function and are a safe and highly recommended exercise option for pre & postnatal women.
Our online space has become a hub for likeminded women to support each other, and we are proud to support today’s busy mum as we endeavour to set a standard of quality in women’s wellness, nutrition & lifestyle services.
